Digging out old favourites .. Spellbinders

Being a mum is one of the best jobs in the world and I am lucky enough to be still  'employed' by my 3 lovely children , The battles never change, my youngest, Gemma, is now 20 years old and I still chase her to tidy her room, ,my eldest, Ben, now 30 is a primary school teacher and when I ask him when will he have some kids of his own he tells me he is quiet happy with the 28 he already has!! and of course my lovely Lisa, like Ben has returned to  the nest to save for a deposit for a flat.

I choose this image 'CupCake' from the Belles and whistles collection as it always reminds me of my girls when they are bored or fed up!!
They like nothing more then having some mother/daughter time in the kitchen making puddings and  cupcakes.  If you are wondering where I am in the image, I'm probably still in the kitchen doing the cleaning up!!)

As Floral Fantasies are running their 5th Blogaversary challenge I thought this card would be fitting , as it is all about old favourites and here I have used my Spellbinders Scalloped Circle die with comes out of the box most days.

Dreaming of warmer days...

Yet another wet and windy week this week, our hearts go out to all who's homes are under 6 ft of water at the moment, we have been very lucky and only suffered a little garden damage and as the weekend was dry Hubby took the opportunity to put the fences back up on Sunday, leaving me alone to play (in the warm) with my Spectrum Noir pens. With my Birthday in a few weeks I have been promised some new Crafty stash, so hope to get some of the new Spectrum Noir blending pencils to try out.

Found this fabulous fantasy Princess image on a Pinterest site after searching ' free digi-Art ' on the web, would love to know who the artist is as they are very talented but the there was no water mark with the image, so no clues there.

The girl in the images seems in a total day dream ,I wonder if she is dreaming of Summers days.....

I love her hair so thought I would give it a little more time than usual .

my colouring needs lots of practice, though I do get some lovely compliments I'm no expect at all, luckily the pens do most of the work . I  was quite happy with the end result hope you like it too x

Crafters Companion - Angelica and Adam

Well Crafters Companion know a good thing when they see it and have gone back to an old favourite of theirs Angelica  but this time she has a playmate Adam . The launch of this CD will be coming to you next week on Create and Craft TV on  Monday18th Febuaray 2014 as the new 4 Day Deal!!

Here are a couple of cards made for the show ..

The first features Adam  and is made from the CD rom, I have to confess I have never got around to making a waterfall card before so was really pleased with this first attempt at it. Luckily I didn't have to do a lot of work as all the sizing and measuring had been done for me on the CD Rom all I had to do was print it out and decorate it and of course put it together, for that I found a very useful tutorial on  how to make a waterfall card on You Tube

items used
A5 card blank
Angelica and Adam CD Rom
Brown Core'dnations Cardstock
Ribbon
2 brads
brown Candies

I used some Cor'dnatioins card stock to create the strips on the backing paper , a small piece of ribbon on the tag and some brads to hold it all in place, I then added some brown candies in  the corner ,everything else was printed straight from the CD from the waterfall section

Items used
6 x 6 scalloped card blank
Crafters Companion Angelica and Adam CD rom
Spectrum Noir pens
Mink Centura Pearl Cardstock
Crafters Companion Circle Doilies Die
Crafters Companion Die'sire Grace Frame Die
Tonic Studio indulgence Square Tres belle die

This second card features Angelica and has been printed out  for the digi stamp collection and colored using my Spectrum Noir pens I particularly like the way the ruffles on her dress have come out. She has been fussy cut out and then mounted onto a Die'sire Chantilly Lace die cut and then mounted onto another Die'sire die-cut this time the Grace frame and then onto a tonic studio indulgence die-cut I have decorated her with cherries cut out from the digi companion section and then colored again with my Spectrum Noirs

Thanks for popping by xx

Time to play

Finally a bit of free time , washings done , housework on top of and pets sleeping contently so had a few hours to spare to play with some bits and pieces ... even had opportunity to get inky fingers from making my own flowers for a change, nothing to fancy just 2 or 3 layers using a nellie snellen flower punch set and a pearl in the center but nice to say 'I made them!!'

Items used
8x8 card blank
Be bunni CD (for backing Papers)
Hunkydory topper (Fall from Autumn kit)
Hunkydory foiled backing card
Centura Pearl Cream paper
Centura Pearl Dark brown card stock
Orange Core'dnations card stock
Spellbinders labels 8 die
Tim Holts Distressed Aged maghogany Inkpad
Pearls
Satin bow
Brown satin Ribbon
Nellie Snellen flower punches
goggley eyes

Today's Challenge was to see how far I could go with one topper. Now I could lie and say it all fell into place but that would be fibbing , sometimes you make a card and then look back and shout what was I thinking!!!

My first attempt was tons of flowers ,embossing, stamping,  ribbon you name it, it was stuck on somewhere and the result was it just looked Poo! back to the table and start again seeing how much can be taken off (in one piece) and saved for another go

I think sometimes you can try too hard especially when you know your time may be limited, so anyway it was deconstructed and resembled with the bits I liked the best and this is what I had when I was finished , nothing fancy just matt and layering and some nice papers that match and you end up with a card for any age or gender and time now well spent

I like it and I hope you will too

Just  a quick card today as the Interweb is having hissy fits due to the torrential rain outside. Always the same when it rains Internet up, Internet down , Internet up, Internet down all day!!!! so while the wind is blowing in my favour, here is today's card.... I Found some shaped cards at the back of a drawer  yesterday so thought I'd put one together to see how they 'Shaped' up.

Time was limited as usual (Doctors in the morning and shopping waiting to be done after lunch) so just did some 'pick and stick' on it , I had some white flowers made up in advance and have a drawer full of Hunkydory toppers to choose from so it was done in a flash. Love the spring like colours and the butterflies and look forward to seeing the real thing and shaking off these winter blues

looks like I won't be doing a lot of the PC today , PC/cable guy is due in the Afternoon so I'm off upstairs to do some real crafting  till he arrives , really looking forward to getting inky fingers and down and dirty with some much missed stamps, WTS!!
Items used
6 x 6 shaped card
Hunkydory topper
white paper flowers
gold mirror card
Spellbinders elite embossing folder
Pink Gingham ribbon
Pink pearls

Love is in the air ....Thanks to Tonic dies..

Love is in the air with valentines day less than 2 weeks away and so its time to get out those lovey-dovey shaped dies out  and get down to some serious crafting...

Tonic Studio have the wonderful Verso range , one of my favorites is thats quite new to the collection is called 'Indulgence Affections' and feature lots of hearts and swirls so todays cards are made with them and a few other bits I had in my crafty stash. I think if I was told I could only ever have one companies dies to play with and had to chose among the many wonderful dies on the market at the moment, I would go for Tonic Studio every time. They cut clean and well and release easily and have a beautiful range of designs to chose from .

Card 1- Anniversary
I used some brown pastel Centura Pearl cardstock for the  A5 card blank, I use this a lot in my crafting as it is 300gsm and nice and study for the job as well as been top quality card to work with

This card has been made with the 'Indulgence Affections insert die 'someone special'  and a Hunkydory topper from the luxury card kit 'Festive Decadence', (yes OK its a Christmas topper but I won't tell if you don't!!) The backing card has been made with some lush red card stock and  another Tonic die this time its the 'Tres Belle tag square' die, I have had a jiggle with it and found if you find the repeat in the pattern you can extend the die-cut to even longer and looks fab when mounted onto a lighter card or paper  I used some cream paper I had!!

I finished this card with a 'Happy Anniversary' peel off Sentiment mounted onto 2 Spellbinders banner die cuts
and a romantic red satin bow on the top

Card 2 - Wedding
This second card is made with a 6 x 6 card blank, I used the Tres Belle tag square' die again but didn't extend it this time, I cut it from some beautiful Centura Pearl Snow white card stock and mounted onto some pastel pink Centura Card stock.

The heart was cut with some silver mirror card and my Tonic Studio Affections insert die 'be mine' as (you might notice I only used the outer heart for this one) I have added an embossed strip across the middle of the card this was made with a Spellbinders Elite M-bossibilities folder and Centura Pearl Card stock again and I've added some soft pink lace.

The wedding bells were made from a 2" embossing folder I have had since Noah set sail, (I think it may be an old cuttlebug one) and some more silver mirror card . I finished it off with some white paper flowers in the corner. a Spellbinders sentiment banner and 2 Silver foil butterflies which are peel off stickers stuck onto some acetate scraps!!

Here's my last card and this one of course has to be for the 14th of Febuary and Valentines day

Card 3 - Valentines
A very simple but to the point 6 x 6 card for the love of my life ( I hope Ruby appreciates it!!, only jesting of course it will be for my lovey hubby who supports me and my crafty habit!)

Made from gold mirror board and some red card stock I have used the Verso Christmas  (Nurse!! shes at it again !!!! Bringing up Christmas in February) Decorative Holly rings die and some old Hunky dory toppers, I had in a drawer from 2010.

No bows this time as its a card for a guy, just a gold candie in each corner to finish.

Hope you like my creations and thanks for popping by xx
