Here comes the bride - Silhouette Portait

As many of you know back in March I celebrated my 50th birthday and my lovely hubby throw me a party no mean feat as he normally has trouble organising his sock drawer anyway he didn't have time to find me that prefect present, bless him and so we agreed when there was something I fancied he would treat me. Well last week there was something I fancied!!

The Silhouette cameo and portrait cutting machine has been around for a while now but I wasn't sure if I could justify another cutting machine after buying the Cricut and Gypsy 3 years ago. Alas I think the damp from being in the loft last winter has rhubarbed the gypsy' wiring and now it refuses to work properly, I still have the Cricut cartridges so I can still use them in the big machine but its limited so long story short Paul treated me to the Silhouette Portrait as my birthday present .

The machine comes with the pc software for your graphic Design studio and a free $10.00 download card to spend in their online store (worth about £5.85) it is the smaller of the two machines but unless you have a A3 printer there is no need for the larger Cameo as this one does everything the other one can do. the set up is plug in, download your software from the disc and off you go!!

These Churches are my first attempt at a 3D project from their on line store/library, the 2 templates cost 59p each , 1 for the body of the church and the other the window arches and roof , They have all been decorated with flowers and bows and placed on two square bases edged with a Martha Stewart punch border, (the hearts around the doorway are the waste from the borders) the happy couple I bought from ebay (3 for 99p) and the plastic dome box is from Scary Marys Flower Vase kit

Each Church has been decorated differently as to appeal to everyones tastes , The pink one (below) was the first to be made and has less on it as ideas came along with each one as they were made.

All the windows have patterned acetate behind, which gives a nice effect , I think this design would also work well with a battery operated tea light inside but haven't tried this yet .

The purple church has a pattened paper roof which I think looks lovely , and when I make more I will probably do this again
They will sit nicely on my Craft Stall/Tent in July and hopefully they will bring many people in to have a look round at the other cards and gifts too.

Thanks for popping by xx

Addicted to Dies!!!... Tattered lace and Tonic

Well the Mayday Bank hols have come and gone and we had a lovely long weekend, not doing much of anything, just pottering around the house on Saturday, A trip to the pub for some lemonade and maybe the odd Rum and coke with old friends and then a run over at the park for little Ruby Sunday.

Monday was quite ,we did however pop into our local Village Mayday Fete long enough to get a red ribbon in the fun dog show for 'best trick,' Ruby gave a fabulous performance with a routine of Sit, Stand, dead-dog , Roll over and to finish a 'High Five!!'  She also had fun playing on the Agility equipment and running the legs off a Border Collie that happened to catch her eye!! Then back home to chill in the garden in the afternoon.

I did however have a few hours spare over the weekend while hubby was cleaning the gutters and re-arranging his spanner collection in the garage/Mancave  (as menfolk do) to sneak upstairs to my craft-room and have some fun with my tatty lace dies,
Here's the end result, hope you like them xx

This card has been created with the 'Moments in time' Die from the Tattered  lace range as a topper and mounted onto a paper doily from my stash and a tonic die cut ,  the sentiment and 'Nan' are also from tattered lace, all cut from the fabulous pastal Centura pearl card

The Romance card has been made using the 'Moments in time' die again in Silver mirror card and mounted onto a Tonic Heart die cut , The Champagne bottle came free with my Tatty lace magazine and the glasses are also from their range of fab dies as is the beautiful vintage car on the other card.

The backing card is Snow white Centura Pearl and has been embossed with a Crafters Companion Rose Garden Embossalious folder and the patterned paper was from my stash again .

With the country shows on the horizon I will be making lots of this style of card for my craft stall this summer in time for all the weddings and Anniversaries out there!!

Any regulars to my blog will know I have a serious addiction to dies!! and Tatty lace and Tonic are my top 2 favourites at the moment  so expect to see more from them very soon xx

I  like to enter these cards in the following Challenges

Crafters Companion - Camden Town

Hi folks ,
Things have been a little mad at home so haven't had much time to do any crafting or blogging but here are some samples I made last month for the girls and boys at Crafters Companion, for Dawn Wheelers 'Camden Town' launch this coming Thursday on Create and Craft TV .

As we all know 'all good things have to come to an end' and so with sadness I have had to wave goodbye to the Crafters Companion Design team , Life and family must take priority at the moment and so I have decided to step down and let someone else take a turn , The guys there have been very kind to me and the door has been left open if I ever wish to return (so never say never!!) but for now I have a very busy personal life and can not commit  fully to making samples and meeting deadlines , but I will miss them all greatly and I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to have worked with the best xx

Anyway back to craft , with the Camden Town launch this time I draw the male set and here are my last 5 samples  for TV , keep an eye out on the shows you never know when they may pop up xx

Here's a couple more samples to check out, hope you like them.

The first Card features the owls and is from the 'Animal Adventures' stamp sets and have been coloured with my Spectrum Noirs and Pro markers , couldn't resist adding the goggley eyes to add an element of fun!!

This card has been created with the stamps again this time from the 'kids at play' range and coloured with my Speccies and pro markers and mount onto a circular card blank made from Lemon Centura pearl card  using the Spellbinders Grand Nestibilities Scallop dies and tonic's verso dies  and decorated with paper flowers and paper candies.

The sentiment is also from the stamps set.  Had to colour the puppy grey to match my little Ruby!!

The next project is a cute little  kiddie tissue box, there's nothing worse than a child with a cold and a snotty nose but hopefully they will want a tissue from this box, I've made it bright and jolly to cheer up the patient may they be young or old.

Each side sports a different animal from the chilly penguin to the happy ducks.

The whole box was constructed using Lemon Pastel Centura Pearl card, and decorated with paper flowers , gems and lace and the hole at the top was cut with a circle die and then decorated with Crafters Companion Die'sire Doilie Circles die cuts

If you would like instructions on how to make a tissue box there are many tutoirals on the web and youtube I found this one very useful How to make a Tissue box

Digging out old favourites .. Spellbinders

Being a mum is one of the best jobs in the world and I am lucky enough to be still  'employed' by my 3 lovely children , The battles never change, my youngest, Gemma, is now 20 years old and I still chase her to tidy her room, ,my eldest, Ben, now 30 is a primary school teacher and when I ask him when will he have some kids of his own he tells me he is quiet happy with the 28 he already has!! and of course my lovely Lisa, like Ben has returned to  the nest to save for a deposit for a flat.

I choose this image 'CupCake' from the Belles and whistles collection as it always reminds me of my girls when they are bored or fed up!!

Found this fabulous fantasy Princess image on a Pinterest site after searching ' free digi-Art ' on the web, would love to know who the artist is as they are very talented but the there was no water mark with the image, so no clues there.

The girl in the images seems in a total day dream ,I wonder if she is dreaming of Summers days.....

I love her hair so thought I would give it a little more time than usual .

Crafters Companion - Angelica and Adam

Well Crafters Companion know a good thing when they see it and have gone back to an old favourite of theirs Angelica  but this time she has a playmate Adam . The launch of this CD will be coming to you next week on Create and Craft TV on  Monday18th Febuaray 2014 as the new 4 Day Deal!!

Here are a couple of cards made for the show ..

The first features Adam  and is made from the CD rom, I have to confess I have never got around to making a waterfall card before so was really pleased with this first attempt at it. Luckily I didn't have to do a lot of work as all the sizing and measuring had been done for me on the CD Rom all I had to do was print it out and decorate it and of course put it together, for that I found a very useful tutorial on  how to make a waterfall card on You Tube

items used
A5 card blank
Angelica and Adam CD Rom
Brown Core'dnations Cardstock
Ribbon
2 brads
brown Candies

I used some Cor'dnatioins card stock to create the strips on the backing paper , a small piece of ribbon on the tag and some brads to hold it all in place, I then added some brown candies in  the corner ,everything else was printed straight from the CD from the waterfall section

Items used
6 x 6 scalloped card blank
Crafters Companion Angelica and Adam CD rom
Spectrum Noir pens
Mink Centura Pearl Cardstock
Crafters Companion Circle Doilies Die
Crafters Companion Die'sire Grace Frame Die
Tonic Studio indulgence Square Tres belle die

This second card features Angelica and has been printed out  for the digi stamp collection and colored using my Spectrum Noir pens I particularly like the way the ruffles on her dress have come out. She has been fussy cut out and then mounted onto a Die'sire Chantilly Lace die cut and then mounted onto another Die'sire die-cut this time the Grace frame and then onto a tonic studio indulgence die-cut I have decorated her with cherries cut out from the digi companion section and then colored again with my Spectrum Noirs

Time to play

Finally a bit of free time , washings done , housework on top of and pets sleeping contently so had a few hours to spare to play with some bits and pieces ... even had opportunity to get inky fingers from making my own flowers for a change, nothing to fancy just 2 or 3 layers using a nellie snellen flower punch set and a pearl in the center but nice to say 'I made them!!'

Items used
8x8 card blank
Be bunni CD (for backing Papers)
Hunkydory topper (Fall from Autumn kit)
Hunkydory foiled backing card
Centura Pearl Cream paper
Centura Pearl Dark brown card stock
Orange Core'dnations card stock
Spellbinders labels 8 die
Tim Holts Distressed Aged maghogany Inkpad
Pearls
Satin bow
Brown satin Ribbon
Nellie Snellen flower punches
goggley eyes

Today's Challenge was to see how far I could go with one topper. Now I could lie and say it all fell into place but that would be fibbing , sometimes you make a card and then look back and shout what was I thinking!!!

My first attempt was tons of flowers ,embossing, stamping,  ribbon you name it, it was stuck on somewhere and the result was it just looked Poo! back to the table and start again seeing how much can be taken off (in one piece) and saved for another go

I think sometimes you can try too hard especially when you know your time may be limited, so anyway it was deconstructed and resembled with the bits I liked the best and this is what I had when I was finished , nothing fancy just matt and layering and some nice papers that match and you end up with a card for any age or gender and time now well spent

I like it and I hope you will too

I would like to enter this into the following Challenges

FeelingcraftyChallenge - Dies or Punches
Alphabet Challenge Blog -Z is for Zestycolors
winter wonderland -No Stamping allowed

Roll on spring...

Just  a quick card today as the Interweb is having hissy fits due to the torrential rain outside. Always the same when it rains Internet up, Internet down , Internet up, Internet down all day!!!! so while the wind is blowing in my favour, here is today's card.... I Found some shaped cards at the back of a drawer  yesterday so thought I'd put one together to see how they 'Shaped' up.

Time was limited as usual (Doctors in the morning and shopping waiting to be done after lunch) so just did some 'pick and stick' on it , I had some white flowers made up in advance and have a drawer full of Hunkydory toppers to choose from so it was done in a flash. Love the spring like colours and the butterflies and look forward to seeing the real thing and shaking off these winter blues

looks like I won't be doing a lot of the PC today , PC/cable guy is due in the Afternoon so I'm off upstairs to do some real crafting  till he arrives , really looking forward to getting inky fingers and down and dirty with some much missed stamps, WTS!!
