Crafter's Companion Sneaky Peek - MAKEY BAKEY MICE

Morning ladies,
Well its time again to have a sneak peek at what Crafter's Companion plan to delight us with this week on Create and Craft TV . On Friday the 13th (lucky for some) the Pick of the Week will be a brand new launch, I'm so excited about it I could Squeak!!!

Its the MAKEY BAKEY MICE !!

You are going to fall in love with these adorable little creatures, they are the sweetest mice ever!! Unlike the ones that live under my kitchen sink and pop in from time to time, you are going to welcome these little guys into your home....

There will be stamps , CD'S and a fabulous paper kits from Hunkydory to accompany the sets, both everyday and of course Christmas . All of today's Sneaky peeks have been made from the Hunkydory Makey Bakey Mice Everyday paper kit

Here are a few teasers to get you ready for the big launch on the 13th of September over at Create and Craft TV, The UK's only dedicated Craft channel , Sky 671, Virgin 748, Freeview 36 and Freesat 813

My favorites from this launch are the budding 'David Baily' wannabes playing with the old style camera, they look like they are having a fantasic time putting together some corking memories in their little photo album!! How cute are they!!!

And something for the guys for a change, my Dad loves his photography and would love to receive a card with a camera on, it would be personal to him as its one of his most loved hobbies.

All the card stock is 'Adorable Scoreable' so you would get and cracks in your crease as they say!! and most of the card and toppers in the kits are also foiled in some way so you will be getting top quality kits to work with.

This card on the left with the little field mouse on popping out of his tree would also make a lovely 'New Home' card for anyone about to move or even get their first place to call their own. As would the shaped
card on the right  with the little mouse waking up after spending the night in a teapot.

There are loads of cute images to will definitely find something for everyone in these kits.I will post more next time featuring the Christmas selection from the Hunky dory kits as they too are as adorable and a real pleasure to craft with

Bye for now xx

'Time' for something different....

Morning Peeps.

Well the Paper craft show at Biggin Hill, in Surrey on Sunday September 1st was fabulous, had a chance to catch up with some old friends and make a few new ones. I spent far too much money as usual (don't know whats the point of money if you cant spend it.) but then all good craftsmen/women need tools to do their craft don't they!!

One of my stops walking round the show was at the Rob Addams Stand, (really nice guy) bought some fab dies from him and a pop up CD, always fancied a play at pop up cards as they seem popular at the craft fairs. So after a short chat about the CD's and then a longer more involved chat about British motorcycles, I finally left with my purchases, (Apologies to Rob for getting him in the dog- house with the wife for talking bikes and not working!!)

Anyhow one of my star buys was this beautiful clock face and dials die, and here are a few examples I made last week with it , hope you like them xx

Here's a' Step by Step' in case you would like to make this card yourself ....

Card 1
Items used
'Crafts too' Embossing folder
versamark pad
silver embossing powder
Rob Addams 'All Occasions' Clock die
Martha Stewart 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' punch
Metalic Gilding flakes
Gold mirror card
Brown card
Tim holts 'Aged Mahogany' Distressing ink pad
1 small brad

Step 1
Cut a 5'' Circle in brown card, next use your versamark to 'ink' the raised side of your embossing folder and place cut circle inside then emboss through your embossing machine. ( mines a Gland Calibur)

Step 2
Sprinkle silver embossing powder into the now sticky embossed brown card circle and heat with a heat gun to melt the powder.

Step 3
mount onto gold mirror card and put to one side

Step 4
Take some white card and cut a smaller Circle and dab with cosmic shimmer flake glue and then add your gilding flakes, I used a combo of gold, silver and bronze . This looks good if it is not perfectly covered because you will then go over with the Tim holts 'Aged Mahogany' ink pad to cover any white bits showing, giving that 'aged' look

Step 5
Cut your dial and cogs out with the Rob Addams 'All Occasions' Clock die, then cut out the hands with the gold mirror card, build your clock onto the patterned circle and fix hands on with the brad in the center.

Step 6
Punch 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY ' with your Martha Stewart punch and mount onto brown card , you can then assemble your card as shown in the picture above, I used the small cog to decorate the corners and added a frame from my craft stash  x

Cards 2 and 3

Card 2
This Christmas card was made using a some printed red card, some Snowflake die cuts cut, using the new 'crafts Too' 'Fresh Snow Snowflake dies and the clock face was the Rob Addams 'All Occasions Dies' .I also added a gold 'Happy Christmas'  peel off Sentiment sticker, you might want to put the XII at the top of your card, unlike myself who put it on 90 degrees out!!! DOH!!!

Card 3
This card was made again with the Rob Addams 'All Occasions Dies clock and some paper stock from My Craft Studion -Jewel Britannia' paper-book. I don't think you can buy the book anymore as it is quite old now but you can still get the images on the 'my craft Studio CD' - 'Click print go, Jewel Britannia' available from Crafting.co.uk

One last Sneaky peek from Crafters Companion

 Morning Peeps

Well they say the sun only shines on the righteous so I must have been a naughty girl lately as it's monsoon weather outside, the little dog's just returned in from the garden and looks like a swamp rat!!! Great for the flowers but not so welcome when you are planning a camping trip for 4 days!!!

Anyways back to work (if you can call it that) and more some samples from the fab  'Snowman and Snow-dog' launch to peruse at your leisure xx

Don't forget Create and Craft TV, ( Freeview channel 36, virgin 748, Sky 671 and Freesat 813)   tonight at 8pm,  and again at noon on Friday 23rd with the lovely ladies from Crafters Companion  in the 'PICK OF THE WEEK' Show xx

This time featuring a few cards made from the Hunkydory Snowman and Snow dog kits. As usual the kits are gold and silver foiled and of the highest quality and stacked to the brim with goodies including A5 toppers , Arch shaped concept cards (right) ,  box cards and the usual pile of papers, cardstock and embellishments that grace all packs. they will also be Acetate and paper packs to accompany the kits

I promise you will not be disappointed , I loved all the elements especially the pack of 6 x 6 papers that make fabulous quick Christmas cards if you are in a hurry or larger cards if you have the time to go crazy with embellishments!!! I used the pack to make chrimbo cards yesterday for this weekends craft fair and created 30 in 3 hours and there was still loads of time to add a few snowflakes to each one too !!!!

Here's a table decoration / Card (below) made from the Hunkydory Snowman and Snow-dog kit which honestly took less than 15 minutes to make , just put two concept cards together (all the elements for one care are on one sheet) and then stick a large topper in the middle to balance and add a few snowflakes to  the corners . It looks fabulous and really complicated but trust me it was Simples!!!!

Thanks for popping by and don't forget to tune in tonight to see more fab samples from the Crafters Companion Design team at 8pm Create and Craft TV, Sky 671 | Freeview 36 | Freesat 813 | Virgin 748 and on the 'PICK OF THE WEEK' show at noon on Friday xx

Please feel free to leave a comment if you see something you like or have any questions , I love all your comments and look forward to reading them xx

Another sneaky peek....Crafters Companion BONUS CD

Just a quick post today as there is tons to still be done for the Hellingley Steam show on Friday , The camper hasn't been unloaded from last weekends craft fair and we are off again on the 23rd for a 3 day event so  less tine for blogging.

Another couple of Items to inspire you on how to use your Crafters Companion 'Snowman and Snowdog CD Rom and your bonus gift that comes free which is your 'Father Christmas' CD

 8 x Christmas Card
Items used

Father Christmas Bonus CD,

 Ivy leave Die'sire Christmas die,
Die'sire enchanted Spring die,
 8x8 Celtic frame embossilous folder

Not the best picture in the world I'm afraid as you cant really see the glitter on the embossing of the card but I think you get the idea , one of my favourite things about this CD is the printed text papers love that look.

Christmas Stocking
Also keep your eyes peeled for this stocking , anyone that knows me well, will know how I Love to sew!!! As my machine and I  have a hate/hate relationship but from time to time we have to learn to cooperate with each other and on this occasion we were in harmony and managed to produce something worth passing on to the gang at Crafter's Companion.

The body of the stocking is made from red sequined material bought for less than a fiver at a local hobby
shop along with white felt , I wanted to used white fur but it seemed to be rare as hens teeth where I live so had to settle for felt instead .

The image was from the Father Christmas Bonus CD and was printed onto iron-on transfer paper and put onto some white felt and then sewn onto the front and edged with lace and red bows

Thanks for popping by xx

Sneaky peek Crafters Companion Snowman and Snowdog...

Time again for a sneaky peek at whats coming soon from our lovely ladies at Crafters Companion and with Christmas only 4 paychecks away it had to be Yuletide related, so time to go meet .....The Snowman and the Snowdog.

Launched on Friday 23st August over on Create and Craft TV  (Ideal World's Sister Channel) as the 'Pick of the week' but also can be seen at  8pm the evening before in a pre-launch show with leanne and the crew from Crafters Companion too , so no excuse to miss it!! This CD along with a bonus Father Christmas CD will be available to all .

All new images to choose from and more Stamps, Papers, Toppers, Decoupage, Acetate, and Concept cards you can shake a snowball at, you name it and they will bring it to you.

I particularly love the papers as they are so versatile and can be used at any time of the year not just for the December party season.

Here are a couple of samples sent in and due to make an appearance (hopefully) sometime in the week , hope you like them xx

I thought for a change I would start my peeks with my stamp samples I don't normally like showing them off as I don't think my 'colouring in' is up to the best standard it can ,but I'm quite pleased with how these came out and lets be honest colouring white snow isn't brain surgery when it comes down to it!!!!! So you can see them first.

I think it helps having the fabulous Spectrum Noirs to play with that has produced a better result this time round.

The sentiments come with the stamps too and can be used on any of your Christmas cards this year and any other year afterwards and the fab papers were printed from the CD

So don't forget to tune it on Friday at noon for the 'Pick of the week'  to create and Craft to get this beautiful CD and Stamp collection and if you don't do CD Roms then why not check out the Hunkydory kits also available to craft with..

Thanks for popping by x

Civil Partnership cards ...

hi everyone

well things are starting to get busy now with a craftshow every week and Crafters Companions launches on Create and craft every fortnight, so the chance to do other things is getting rarer by the minute. Some things have to be done , the dog has to be walked in the morning and a hour found for her training /playtime and there's supplies that need buying so the housework will wait for me to get round to it . .(a clean house is a sign of a wasted day!!!!)

I have been asked by a friend to make some Civil Partnership cards for her as she has a wedding to attend next year and as my supplys have ran short it seemed a good idea to restock ,so here are a couple I sneeked in between making christmas cards this week.  hope you like them...

Sorry if the ladies are feeling left out, I promise to get some made for you before the end of the month running along the same lines with matching brides and corsets, then straight after that I might consider hoovering the house, unless something more interesting comes up .....

Luxury Christmas Card Kit

Morning folks ,

just a quick post today to show off some more of the fabulous cards you can make with your Crafters Companion/hunky dory luxury Christmas card kit.

The deal over at Create and Craft has finished now but you can still get the kit from the Crafters Companion website and  you will also find their these fabulous dies I used to make the ivy embellishment with , and the silver frame (Die'sire Enchanted Spring frame )surround .The gaint Poninsettia flower came in the kit as did the sentiments.

Here are a few that made the show , its always a huge ego boast to see my creations on create and craft and and even now I have to pinch myself and ask 'who'd of thought it!!!

I'm there because I was lucky enough to get noticed by Leann when they had their birthday competition back in October  last year, with my Toread cards and picked as a winner and guess what, their birthdays coming around soon, so keep a eye out on their blog site this year, and it could be you getting picked for their design team too x

The card on the left is made using a swing card blank and is decorated intirely from elements from the Christmas luxury card kit and the light blue card on the right is made using cardstock and snowy acetate from Hunkydory, toppers and sentiments from the luxury kit and has been decorated with some die'sire quilling roses

I'm off now to buy a new Computer screen now as mine has gone into meltdown during the past few weeks ( must be due to the hot weather) and refuses to stop flickering so I'm off to PC world for a new one and if there is nothing there I like then round to Homebase to buy a big hammer to fix this one!!!!!

Time away...

Hi folks

hope you have all been keeping well , I've had some time out from blogging what with family, pets and life in general, we (hubby and I ) have just celebrated our 23rd wedding Anniversary and to treat oursleves we had a sneaky weeks holiday down to  the Devon coast at the last minute,we had a caravan down at Dawlish Warren , a beautiful part of the countryside only 1 mile from the beach and myself and Paul and Ruby of course, (couldn't leave my fur -baby behind) had a well earn rest from life in the smog!!

Stourhead stately home

we set off at 10.30am that morning not expecting it would take us 10 hours to get to our campsite. Should had done it in 5 but we were delayed by heavy traffic and so diverted to a pub for lunch at 12 noon and then a lovely stop off at the National Trust's Stourhead House and gardens for a few more hours at 3pm to escape the heat  inside the car which had gone into the 30's and the traffic on the A303 which had slowed to a crawl. Finally arriving at 8pm that night. The week flew by so quickly but I think we had a good time sadly one minute we were there and next minute we were back home again .

The lakes and grounds at Stourhead

Anyway I haven't had any time to post anything lately, but I'm back from my hols now and so its nose to the Cuttlebug and time to get back to work (if you can call this work!!)

Christmas is just 5 paychecks away and so I'm told its time to start thinking about the guy in the red coat and the things he likes to share with us, like presents and decorated trees and of course SNOW!!

Now I love Christmas as much as the next person but its a little hard to imagine winter outside when the temperature is over 30 degrees in the shade and its not the snow that's melting on the path but more like the tarmac on the pavements!!

Anyway here are a few Mulberry wood cards I put together before we packed our case and headed down to the English Riviera for the best of the weather.

My Christmas range of cards has already been quite popular at a summer bar-b-Que and half a box of 40 cards were sold to friends and friends of friends there. Who would of thought 'big hairy bikers' would like Mulberry wood cards!!  lol

Crafter's Companion have also kept me busy with some launches going ahead in Germany last week too and they have something really special lined up for you all in Create and craft next week, so keep a crafty eyes out for that . (Will be posting my usual sneaky peeks soon, ).  I also have my country shows looming on the horizon, starting next weekend with  lingfield steam fair, in Surrey, so have been beavering away making cards for those .

Thanks for popping by xx

One more from Barkley...

Well the weather is scorching outside again today as the summer has finally arrived, so thought I'd blog again indoors (and out of the blazing heatwave) as there is still time for one more sneaky peek before the launch at lunchtime on Create and Craft TV, this time its a gift box made from the Crafter's Companion BARKLEY CD....

Here's a twist on an exploding box , an exploding rectangle!! inside there are 2 wax butterflies and some herbal teabags in the centre box so you can have a chill out and relax with a cuppa and some scented candles.

The box was made from a template in the 'exploding boxes' section printed off 3 times and then stuck together and features the little kitten in the images for a change, as I know there are just as many pussy cat lovers out there as dog owners

The lid was made on the ultimate pro with some silver white centura Pearl card and the flowers were in the embellishment section. There's a ribbon around the edge and some on top with an image from the 'toppers' on the CD.

All stuck together with the fabulous Collall glue and the new tacky glue from Crafters Companion available on the website.

don't forget to put on your sunblock or better still  tune in today (friday 12th) at 12 for the launch of the BARKLEY CD AND STAMPS and chill inside in the shade like me!!!!!!

Another look at Barkley from Crafters Companion..............

Here's another chance to see whats in store from Crafters Companion and its this darling little puppy BARKLEY..

Now we all know that secretly that WE have the best dog in the world living in our house as a member of our family but this little guy comes a close second.

There are 2 CDs to choose from Everyday and Christmas a range of stamps to accompany the CDs too and I know you will love them both . Here's a card I made from one the stamps, and some of the backing papers from the CD. I also used a Enchanted Spring Die'sire die cut from Pink Core'ordinations card and a tonic edge punch on some Snow white Centura pearl card stock as a mount

Here are a couple of baby vests, as you know there are lots of uses for these images, so don't just think its the card makers having all the fun here.

I made these 4 weeks ago before the wonderful news was released from Crafters Companion that our lovely Sara and her husband Simon were expecting their first baby , So I am delighted that they will now go to a good home after the show!!  Next time not to self , make the baby vests lemon and cover all the bases lol!!

Firstly I have to apologise for the bad photo as these vests in real life are a fabulous bright pink colour but somewhere in the photography that has been lost!! The images are from the Barkley everyday CD which have been printed on to iron on transfer paper and then onto the baby vests and I pretty sure they will get an airing at the launch as the news of  the new arrival is bound to be the topic of conversation on the show at some point. So watch out for these little cuties coming to a TV near you soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So check out the PICK OF THE WEEK SHOW, Friday 12th July 12 noon on Create and Craft TV,

Sky 671 | Freeview 36 | Freesat 813 | Virgin 748

And Congratulations to Sara and Simon again on their fabulous news........

wedding fever....

It won't be long before the wedding season starts, we have already received an invite for September so I thought it might be a good time to restock on some of the wedding gifts I like to make for the country shows and craft Fayre's we attend in the summer months

This gift of a couple in front of an arch is made from paper and card, The arches were Centura pearl card cut on my Cricut die-cutting machine from a church window design along with the flower/vine surrounds. The stand is a box shape 1 1/2'' deep and edged with a martha stewart punch and the base also cut from Centura card. The kissing couple was purchased at a craft show but they are widely available on most Internet sites , (Ebay always has them) the arch is decorated with mini silk flowers and pearls, the acetate box is dressed with ribbon and gold peel off stickers.. The wedding cake topper is purely my design but the Acetate display box is from another keepsake kit I bought but I plan to make my own from its template next time

This wedding cake gift is from scary Mary cards from the keepsake range and comes flat-packed for you to build, its quite easy It takes me a couple of hours from start to finish and you have total free range how you decorate it.  I sell these for £12 each and get 3 cakes and display boxes from each pack costing £17.99 so make nearly £20 profit on each pack I buy. I already have orders for these and can not recommend them enough!!

More Sneaky peeks from Brambly Hedge - Crafters Companion

Welcome back and time to look again at what's in store on Friday's Pick of the week' show over at Create and Craft TV , The girls and boys at  Crafters Companion have bought you this fantastic range of stamps and a Cd Rom of these wonderful little woodland creatures that live deep down  in BRAMBLY HEDGE.....

Here's another couple of projects I made from the fabulous Brambly Hedge CD Rom, this time we are celebrating Summer.

The first is an A5 card I made the backing paper with white card using the Argyle embossing folder from Embossalicious and then inking with some Tim Holts 'Vintage Photo' distressing ink and a couple of dies from spellbinder and Cheery lynn, all mounted on brown Core'dinations card.

Next is a Desk Tidy made from a little red felt bag (£1.99) from the Craft barn and I decorated it with an image from the CD, printed out on Iron on fabric transfer paper from Crafter's Companion and some lace, paper flowers and a enamel butterfly.

This was so easy to make , just print out your image and iron on to some clean cotton material, I used a piece from a cotton pillow case , edged with some lace and stick onto your felt bag with your tacky glue , I used a glue gun to stick on the flowers, leaves and butterfly purely because they were a little heavier and I want them to stay put!!

Dont forget whenever you are using iron on transfer paper always follow the instructions on the packet and remember when you iron on your picture it will come out as a mirror image facing the reverse way. So if you want it to look the same as on the CD you will need to 'flip' the picture in a graphics programme first ( I used Serif) and then print out . Don't worry if you don't know how to do this, nine times out of ten it doesn't matter unless you are printing out text and then your words will come out back to front!!

Ideal if you want to move from room to garden to do a bit of crafting  in the sunshine while it lasts!!As you can see it holds all your goodies nice and tidy and there is plenty of room left for more, it could hold your wool ,knitting needles or sewing kit as well . or if you didn't fancy using it for any of those you could simply put your sandwiches in it for work!!

Don't forget to watch the show , there will also be some beautiful Brambly Hedge Hunkydory paper kits to go with this range and they are to die for!!

The best thing to hold on to..... (by Sheena Douglas)

Here's a little 7'' plaque made for my daughters boyfriends mum as a birthday gift, My daughter ask for this as her boyfriends mum loves her butterflies so I hope she likes it.

Items used
Tim Holts 'shaded lilac' distressing ink pad
Stampendous gold Halo glitter
Swirl stamp
2 butterfly peel offs
Silver WOW embossing powder
easel board and stand

I used a Sheena Douglas stamp , from the 'A little bit Sketchy' range called 'Only words - through the rain' for the sentiment and then her beautiful flowers  again from her A5 - A little bit sketchy' range (flower power) for the decoration around the sides , Everything was stamped using a versamark stamp and then heat embossed with some silver WOW powder, the flower centres are a blob of comic shimmer glue and a generous offering of gold Halo glitter from Stampendous and the lilac butterflies were make simply by using a butterfly peel off onto some paper and inking through with the shaded lilac distressing ink. The backing paper was some light blue paper I had laying around in my craft room and was too nice to throw away and this was all mounted onto a small easel card and wooden stand.

I do love the way this has come out , would be ideal for any occasion , birthdays ,Anniversaries, valentines day etc.. Its the second one I made, the first now sits on MY sideboard for a change but I think this one is nicer...

Sneaky Peek Time - Brambly Hedge from Crafters Companion

Sneaky peek time again and its a 'Pick of the week' over at Create and Craft TV  launching on Friday the 14th June at 12 noon. It's the Brambly Hedge collection from Crafters Companion

This is going to be a real treat for all you Beatrix Potter fans as this has a similar feel to it with cute animal characters and beautiful woodland scenes, you will adore this one

Here's a card that was made using the CD and some embellishments also available with this range . (keep an eye out for it on the show) The backing paper was made from Centura Pearl Card run through the embosser in one of the Beatrix Potter embossing  folders.

'Brambly Hedge' is a fabulous CD rom full of wonderful scenes from the woodland forest and the little field mice that live there. In this range you will also find some adorable stamps to accompany the CD images .

I'm loving the rocker cards its so nice to make something a little 'off the wall'. This also folds flat so is easy and cheap to post , The sentiment and bow are all on the sheet and co-ordinate beautifully with the images and backing papers

So Tune into Create and Craft on Friday 14th June at lunchtime and see the full range of goodies that go with this CD.
