Morning Peeps.
Well the Paper craft show at Biggin Hill, in Surrey on Sunday September 1st was fabulous, had a chance to catch up with some old friends and make a few new ones. I spent far too much money as usual (don't know whats the point of money if you cant spend it.) but then all good craftsmen/women need tools to do their craft don't they!!
One of my stops walking round the show was at the Rob Addams Stand, (really nice guy) bought some fab dies from him and a pop up CD, always fancied a play at pop up cards as they seem popular at the craft fairs. So after a short chat about the CD's and then a longer more involved chat about British motorcycles, I finally left with my purchases, (Apologies to Rob for getting him in the dog- house with the wife for talking bikes and not working!!)
Anyhow one of my star buys was this beautiful clock face and dials die, and here are a few examples I made last week with it , hope you like them xx
Here's a' Step by Step' in case you would like to make this card yourself ....
Card 1
Items used
'Crafts too' Embossing folder
versamark pad
silver embossing powder
Rob Addams 'All Occasions' Clock die
Martha Stewart 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' punch
Metalic Gilding flakes
Gold mirror card
Brown card
Tim holts 'Aged Mahogany' Distressing ink pad
1 small brad
Step 1
Cut a 5'' Circle in brown card, next use your versamark to 'ink' the raised side of your embossing folder and place cut circle inside then emboss through your embossing machine. ( mines a Gland Calibur)
Step 2
Sprinkle silver embossing powder into the now sticky embossed brown card circle and heat with a heat gun to melt the powder.
Step 3
mount onto gold mirror card and put to one side
Step 4
Take some white card and cut a smaller Circle and dab with cosmic shimmer flake glue and then add your gilding flakes, I used a combo of gold, silver and bronze . This looks good if it is not perfectly covered because you will then go over with the Tim holts 'Aged Mahogany' ink pad to cover any white bits showing, giving that 'aged' look
Step 5
Cut your dial and cogs out with the
Rob Addams 'All Occasions' Clock die, then cut out the hands with the gold mirror card, build your clock onto the patterned circle and fix hands on with the brad in the center.
Step 6
Punch 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY ' with your Martha Stewart punch and mount onto brown card , you can then assemble your card as shown in the picture above, I used the small cog to decorate the corners and added a frame from my craft stash x
Cards 2 and 3
Card 2
This Christmas card was made using a some printed red card, some Snowflake die cuts cut, using the new 'crafts Too' 'Fresh Snow Snowflake dies and the clock face was the
Rob Addams 'All Occasions Dies' .I also added a gold 'Happy Christmas' peel off Sentiment sticker, you might want to put the XII at the top of your card, unlike myself who put it on 90 degrees out!!! DOH!!!
Card 3
This card was made again with the
Rob Addams 'All Occasions Dies clock and some paper stock from My Craft Studion -Jewel Britannia' paper-book. I don't think you can buy the book anymore as it is quite old now but you can still get the images on the 'my craft Studio CD' -
