Tying the Knot with Spectrum Noirs......

Hope you are all wrapped up and cosy at the moment, Geazzz, its cold outside here in Surrey!!!!! looks like winters really starting to set in now and so thought it might be nice to think of warmer sunnier times like summer parties, holidays and of course July weddings.

We have a couple to attend next year, so I thought I would make a start on my cards and tie it in with the fabulous Crafters Companion Spectrum Noir launch over at Create and Craft TV this coming weekend!!

If you would like to see more about these wonderful alcohol pens then tune in to Create and Craft TV you can find them at Freesat 813, Freeveiw Channel 36, Virgin 748 and Sky 671.

You can watch as the lovely girls from Crafters Companion show you demos on techniques and tricks to get the best results possible with your colouring and shading, There is always something new to learn...

Here are my favourite 2 mice  from Crafters companion Makey Bakey mice  tying the knot, I've used the wedding couple stamp from the Makey Bakey mice stamp collection and used my Spectrum Noir pens to colour them in with .

Spectrum Noirs used TN2,TN4,TN5,TN6,TN7, for fur, GG1,GG2,GG3.GG4, for hat and tails CT2,CR10,CR2, for confetti...

The finished image is mounted onto a Marianne die frame which has been cut from Centura Pearl Snow white with silver card, the hearts have been cut from Centura Pearl Snow white with silver card also, with a 'Spellbinders delight heart' die and the corners are made from the Diesire 'Enchanted Spring' die and yes you guessed it, I used my favourite card again and cut them out with Centura Pearl Snow white with Silver Card.

Bad to the Bone....

Just thought I'd share with you some Crackers I made last month for the local dog Show/Charity using the tonic Christmas Cracker die, I think it fantastic and had so much fun playing with it in my little craftroom. I'm guessing I put off posting this as I hoped to have pictures from the event too but alas the weather cancelled yet another great day out and so it became a non-event in the end.

Luckily I have a great number of friends who are as pet crazy as I am and so I managed to find homes for all of the 30 large and small crackers I had made for the dog show.

As you can see the Crackers feature our little mate Barkley and friends , seems an obvious choose for a topper and they have been decorated with gold parcel ribbon and glitter . inside the larger ones you will find a 'Bonio bone' biscuit and the smaller ones all contain doggie 'milk biscuit bones' I even did a box of 6  for Ruby's trainer at dog school for her new beagle puppy...

If you would like to know how to extend you crackers to twice their size as the original die only makes the about  6 inches I found this really helpful tutorial over at DipsDesigns which shows you how to ... comes in handy when you want something larger to fit in your cracker!!

Thanks for popping by , come again soon xx

Sweet Treats for Christmas......

Its cold outside , its not that warm inside either , not up here in the loft!!! yes , I'm back up in the loft doing all my craftiness again. Our 'first born' asked to return to the bosom of his family and reap the benefits of cheap board and lodgings so he can save for a deposit on his own flat one day... So bye bye craft room , Hello Son and Cat!!!

Still I have made it homely in the rafters again, we have spent the last week carting it all up the ladder and into drawers and storage boxes , There's a small heater up that which blows a warm breeze around my ankles as I work at my table  and so I've been creating again.  Today it was with the fabulous Crafters Companion Sweet Treat Embossing boards , These boards can fit inside your Crafters Companion ultimate pro case or can be used independently from them also, hope you like what I have  made with CC's boards, papers  and dies ....

My first project is this gift box in the shape of the large milk carton
it was made with Dark Marve Centura Pearl card and some elements cut from a hobbycraft Christmas papers book , the large label at the top was cut using the Die sire Grace Frame Die and the poinsettia was a spellbinders die , all tied up nicely with a hand tied red and gold satin ribbon...

I think its quite lush and plan to fill it with biscuits or chocs , someones in for a nice surprise this Christmas......

One of the best features of the sweet treats embossing boards is the ability to create a  birdhouse from the boards , I have adapted mine and created a dog kennel for the adorable Barkley dog , this will be filled with  dog biscuits for my little ruby as her Christmas treat.. Everything you need to make the house is on the embossing boards even a template for the roof tiles !!! How cute is this.. the bottom of the box opens so once Ruby has done munching on the biscuits the box can still be used as a Christmas decoration on the side or refilled to give away again , Seriously you wouldn't put something this cool in the bin, would you??

I would like to enter these projects in the following challenges....
