Crafters Companion - Beatrix Potter

Hi everyone hope you had a fabulous weekend

I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since my last blog but I've been so busy with work , puppies, bank holidays and family I haven't had time to sit down and type swot this month!!!

Anyway I thought I'd pop on a few cards made for Sara Davis's Germany Show next month . they are from the Beatrix Potter range and made from the card blanks and Rub-ons available over at the Crafters Companion website

Hope you like them xx

This scene of Mrs Puddleduck was made with a Beatrix potter card blank, Spellbinders blossom corners , Small rose Die'sire rose die and an A4 dotty embossing folder

The sentiment in the centre says 'Happy Christmas' in German (card above)

This card is my favourite and was made from a single Beatrix Potter rub on, The embossing folders used were A4 dotty and A4 Argyle and the dies were a Die'sire Walzt Decorative  die and a Persian motif Spellbinders die

Here is a box collection of small notelets made from the Beatrix Potter Rub-ons

J and C Creations - kite Day

It is generally accepted that kites were first invented approximately 2800 years ago in China, Designs often emulate flying insects, birds, dragons and other beasts, both real and mythical. The finest Chinese kites are made from split bamboo (usually golden bamboo), covered with silk, and hand painted. Now days they are considered toys  common with children , rather than adults, though there is a Kite festival every year in Brighton for the big kids among us....

Here's my card , no dragons on them I'm afraid .....

Items used

Dotty Embossed card blank
Kite Stamp
spellbinders Banners die
Pink Ribbon

All highlighted items can be found over at the J and C Creations Website ....

Camden Town Stamp set - Crafters Companion

 Hi folks

Just a quickie today to show off the stamps sets from the Camden Town Range from Crafter's Companion
below is my card made with set 1 using the boots, sentiment and the butterflies, you can't see in the photo but the boots are covered with mirco beads to give them a glitzy look. The little peach pearls, gems and silver charms all came from the sparkle and fluff embellishment kit ,

Here's another card this time using the small solid rose from the Camden Town stamp set, this stamp is less then 1/2 inch but when repeated you can get a lovely pattern from it, I sure it would be useful as a border stamp too. The butterflies are from a spellbinder die 'Les Papillions' and the backing paper was from the Camden Town paper kit.

 thanks for visiting my blog

New addition to the family

Morning folks,

just a quick post to introduce you to the newest member of the family..

This is Ruby (formally known as Taffyta) , A westie terrier x (crossed with a toilet brush by the looks of her coat ) She is 14 weeks old (only 9 weeks in Photo, (Right)) and was a rescue puppy from our local dogs home .

She was bought in with her brothers and sisters to Foal Farm Animal Rescue Centre at  Biggin Hill, Kent, as part of an unwanted litter at 9 weeks old  and has been there since then , All her siblings went to new homes quite quickly but for some reason which we can't work out, no one seemed to want her !!! we just went up to 'Foal' for a visit and to look around as we thought it may be time to start 'thinking' about having another pooch and found her there . All alone in her kennel!!

she has been with us for 2 weeks now, though I feels like a lifetime and she has her paws well under the table as well as wrapped round our hearts. Her favourite things are Pigs ears, brooms, mops and doggy treats, and she hates the hoover and the bath , she is everything a dog should be!!

We have given her the nick name 'Wreck it Ralf' because if she can get it, she will chew it!!!! and we are still puppy- proofing the flower beds as no matter what little fences we put up to stop her, she gets through it to dig up the blubs, Snails and Stones! She sleeps in our room in a cat box which she loves and is so intelligent, all ready she has wrapped 'Daddy' round her little paw!!

If there is a heaven for dogs,
I'm sure Spike is looking down and smiling, and thinking ' Go on girl , give that blooming cat a run for it's money!!!! ,he he' x

Post Card Week - May 6th - 12th

Postcard Week began in 1984 and is always in early May, this year its 6th - 12th  and celebrates the tradition of the postcard. whether you collect them design them or just like to send them everyone is encouraged to join in the fun. The Post Office was the only establishment allowed to print postcards, and it held its monopoly until May 19, 1898, when Congress passed a law which allowed private publishers and printers to produce postcards. Initially, the United States government prohibited private companies from calling their cards "postcards", so they were known as "souvenir cards". The most famous of all Souvenir Postcards are the cheeky Chappies you could buy at the seaside,Which had a type of 'Carry on' style to them. Saucy Postcards designed by Donald McGill were banned in the 1960's for being too risky which only increased collector's interests and some are quite valuable now in collector's circles

Here's today's tribute to this theme and the items you will need to make it

6'' Card blank
Cream and black cardstock
Stampendous' Postcard 'Stamp
Gold embossing powder
Tim Holt's 'Brushed Corduroy ink pad
Versa mark pad
patterned paper
mini Stamp Stamp
Ribbon
Items Highlighted can be purchased from J and C Creations

My Card has been created using the fabulous Stampendous Postcard Stamp mounted onto some patterned paper and decorated with mini stamps and envelopes. The image has been embossed with some gold embossing powder and then dust with some Tim Holts brown ' Brushed Corduroy' ink Pad around the edges, and then mounted onto some black card. The little stamps were individually cut from the patterned paper and the envelopes just folded scraps of paper into the shape of envelopes.
